this is a totally unrelated post to the previous one. i must say that it's kinda weird when ur cuz, from a different city, actually met someone u know while visiting a different country! i was just talking to a cousin of mine from toronto and she told me that she met a guy who's in first year and in science at uofa. i asked who he was, and she told me who and i said "i know him" and it's true! and get this, she met him while visiting some people in USA, and those people knew him. freaky, or what? she asked him if he knew me, and sadly he said no. even though i did talk to him ( i helped him find his friends in the class we had last semester)! maybe he knows my face. prolly. yah, well today i saw one of his friends-nadeem gangji at millenium place! ugggh, that kid can never remember my name or who i am! it's so annoying! oh well, i don't talk to him and he doesn't talk to me. whatevs, no loss!

well, here's my mini "year in review" for 2004. i might add more to this later, i dunno. well, we had a lot of ups and downs (i did for sure). for the ups, most of u who read this blog, just graduated from high school this year, and moved on to university (another "up"). a down was that university is hard. an up is that we're done exams, but well a down could be the grades we get. an up for me was that i finally got my license, but a down for all was that we lost 3 amazing people to a car accident. it's strange, my "in-class" instructor said that 1 in 5 people will die in a car accident before i think either the age of 18 or 20 or 25 (i have the statistic somewhere), and i was one of the "1 out of 5" when he went around the room counting. and here we are, 3 out of 4 in a car died, how does that work? well, it's stupid and i don't like it. an up was that grad didn't really suck, even though the evil freakshows had to run the entire thing! that half of grad committee thought they ruled the entire event, but we somehow managed to NOT let them take over the entire grad! i'm talking about how the grad dance was fun! well, we had some other ups and downs. the "up" was the good movies out this year, but i guess that's every year! oh well, examples of this year's movies are "ocean's 12", "spidey 2", "the incredibles" and "shrek 2". i sense a theme here. well, the down side was that many famous people had to die this year such as janet leigh (psycho fame), christopher reeve (superman fame) and rodney dangerfield (funny comedian/actor). oh well, that's part of life. another down is the recent tsunami effects and aftermath. about 125000 people are dead, 84 or so are canadians. i hate seeing the footage, the people look like statues! it makes me feel like it's not real or something. buggers! an up for me was seeing sam roberts for the first time at k-days this past summer. that was awesome! and hopefully tonight's showing will be the same! another up is the fact that i met so many new people and i think, made some friends (not best friends). well, there's dan from high school and all his friends. and there's the university people, i think i've met a total of 15 people or so. and there are the people i've talked to like once or twice. i know it's not that much but it's good for me. as well, we had mayors change, steven mandel is the new mayor for edmonton, beating out bill smith. kathy oleson is the sherwood park mayor and vern hartwell did not run this past election. paul martin and ralph klein are still in power and so is george dubya bush (bah!). hehe, george w. bush called jean chretien, jean poutine! does anyone know if he did that on purpose? wow, what a moron! well, i must say this last year was good for me in that i got to vote in every election-local, provincial and federal and i made my voice heard! AND, WHO COULD FORGET THE JUNOS??!!!! hehe, that was SO much fun! Joyce and i had a great time. sam won 3 awards (all of the ones he was nominated for), and i was able to watch a lot of great (actually singing) canadian acts, many of whom were my favourites. i hope the junos come back soon to edmonton, or else i hope i can go to the autograph signings for the next junos in winnipeg (i doubt it)!

i LOATHE junk mail! i keep getting junk mail! i think it's a seasonal thing, cause i get junk mail in most of my emails at one time, and then there's a break. so i dunno. recently i get junk mail saying that i ordered a playstation 2 and i should confirm the delivery. bah to the morons who send it! i hope they burn! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! yes, well, stuff 'n' stuff! i love the beatles, i think i'll burn my beatles cd(s) today! apparently the group who sings the original beatles songs (rain?) are coming back, but i dunno if anyone wants to go. i heard they were good in the summer, someone i know saw them at k-days. yay! sam's coming! sorry, but i love him as a performer! i hope he sings "higher learning", cuz he didn't last time.

HEY EVERYONE! what's the haps? sorry, i had to take it from a tv show. hehe, i had a nice dream last night (early morning actually), well, maybe it wasn't nice (i can't remember it) but the guy was! (wink smiley) ;)
well, i hope u people had a merry christmas/happy holiday (so far) and well, have fun in new year's! i know i will ;) (wink smiley again). see, sam roberts is coming on friday dec. 31st for the bear's annual new year's eve bash! i'm so excited! and there are 4 of us going. i do wish it was an all ages show, then more of u could come, alas. he'll come back, u know, he was just here a few months ago and all.

my trip to calgary ( i always wanna say "cally" but that's for californina!) was good. a little bit of bickering between sisters and mom (my mom's sisters and her mom), but not too much. i saw my "finally" 13-yr old cuz. the last time i saw him (2 months ago), his voice was changing! hehe! well, i think he's stopped cracking (voice), but it wasn't cracking a lot the 2 months ago i saw him. oh well, it would have been entertaining! yes, well, he's finally taller than me. actually his parents are quite tall, so he should be past 6 feet, i can't wait. i love tall people, i dunno y. i had this dream to be 7 feet tall, but it'll never happen, i'm just a measly 5 feet 5 inches. *sigh* but i'm good. i went to a mall on boxing day (had to wake up at 8am)! it was good, my bro got some stuff and i found one of those felt coats. i always wanted one, actually i had a gorgeous red one when i was little. yes, i found a pretty light blue one that was half off at the bay! it was $85 in the end. but it was the only one that fit me well, actually all the other coats were either more expensive, or didn't fit me! i hope i can keep this coat and my mom doesn't make me return it. it is, afterall, a wasteful purchase. oh well! hmmm... what else? nothing really, i saw lots of hindi films and programs, but no srk (yes!). sorry, but i don't like him. oh well, i don't think sabira reads this blog so that's good. well, think that was it for my trip.

now, i returned to edmonton yesterday, however before we left calgary, we (bro, mom and i) went to "peter's drive-thru" for supper. mmmm....peter's food is good! hehe. that should be their slogan! sorry, i'm not very creative. well, it was delicious none the less! i had a marshmallow milkshake, i think next time i'll get the oreo one. yes, i recommend this place for anyone who hasn't been. and if u order a large fries, beware! it's a LARGE!! it's like a 2-3 person job! hehe. well, when we returned to edmonton, nothing much happened except we saw that my dad got this christmas basket from work. actually, my mom saw it. now, this wasn't like ur usual basket with cheese, meat and other foods, this basket was awesome! guess which dvd was in it? actually, it would take awhile for u guys to guess it, so i'll just tell u. it was the "SHREK 2" dvd! can u believe it? that's the movie i haven't seen yet and really want to! i was SO FRICKEN HAPPY! and well, naturally, i watched it. that was one FUNNY movie! i really like the parodies at the beginnning. but i must say, i've always been a sucker for rupert everett's voice, i dunno y. ever since i saw "my best friend's wedding" (i've seen that like 5 billion times!), i've just loved his voice. it's one of those romantic, sexy voices. don't worry, i don't have a thing for him! he's old! well, i don't know how old, but way older than me! :) yes, i'm okay. k, the movie was WICKED AWESOME! yes, i feel special now that i've seen it. wow, a free dvd! i can't believe it! ooh, and there was a "donald trump" game, but i'm not sure if it's the apprentice or what not. i think dan would be interested in that. yah, i certainly enjoy gift baskets like that. i think there were playing cards, a cake and some cookies too.

yes, lori said that jeff couldn't make it to dinner on thursday night. but he was still out shopping. he called me like 10 min after lori dropped me home, and he was so sorry. awww, jeffy! oh well, i'll have to see him before he goes! yes, it's true, we saw mike sou at the restaurant with his parents and maybe sister, i don't remember. i remember his dad, not so much his mom. i've also seen his family eating at a "taco bell" a couple of years ago. ewww! oh yes, there was also a "jeff look-alike"! hehe, there was this guy with blond hair like jeff had and his face was pretty similar, but the guy was older and with his girlfriend. i had to go for a close-up to see, but i wasn't too close! yes, that was weird. jeff did say he pierced his brow, so i MUST see this!

yay! sam's coming in 3 days! yay! i'm SO PUMPED! i hope u guys have new year's plans as well. but if ur 18 and wanna come, i think there are still tix available. yes, i just did a promo for the bear, i know. hehe!

hmmm...i think i'm done for a re-cap, but if i forgot anything, i'll write it soon.

Hey there! wow, it's been a while. well, i must say that for all of those high school people, be aware! university takes over ur life especially during exam season. yah, i was studying for the past couple of weeks. i didn't do that great on 2 of my exams (i don't know about the other 2 final and one midterm). oh well, i still managed to get average and pass, i guess. my final mark seems generous in my 2 classes that i got marks for. i don't get it, but i'll take a lot of things that'll keep me in the uofa. yay, uamc is singing "loch lomand"! i'm so excited, i hope we get a good soloist. i remember stef really liked that song, and it is ironic how i get to sing it. but i dunno. see, u'd think the youth choir would sing it because so many wanted to, but instead i get to be a part of the masterpiece. i do enjoy choir, and for those of u who like to sing and don't mind staying late on a wednesday night, should join next year!

it's quite odd reading an email from a cousin on my mom's side. see, he's currently attending a wedding of a cousin on my dad's side, and he calls her, his cousin and all my family, his. it's strange. i feel like telling people that he's not related to them, but he's a funny guy so i have no real beef or anything! i wish i could have gone, the wedding is in bangalore and i've never been out of this country! mind u i love this country and all! hehe, yah i couldn't have gone due to exams. oh well! i don't think attending a cousin's wedding is a good enough reason to write a deferred exam in january!

i did enjoy "ocean's 12" last night! the lo man and i went to see it. i love brad pitt and matt damon. and george clooney is okay at times. if he wasn't old, it wouldn't be so creepy. yes, well, i TOTALLY recommend this movie to all-there's no sex scenes for those of u "romance can DIE" people like me, and there's lots of comedy! lots of hilarious moments! i know i'm gonna want this on dvd like i already have the first one. i still have to watch the original again. ah, the RATPACK. n e way, the movie was AWESOME!!!!!!! yes it was.

so far break has been good, but i don't sleep and i should really start "atonement" because i have to read it for english and it's a longer book than i thought. i might go out with jeff tonight and maybe lori will come, i don't know. i haven't seen jeff in a few months, i do miss him! he's funny! and becca's party on tuesday was fun, it was nice to see some people like dan! hehe, yes ur a strange kid! btw, i want to know if any of you people who read this, would like CODENAMES when i write stuff about you. i never really thought about that, i sure hope that no one who reads this will start stalking any of you people! yes, place a comment or something like that if u'd like a codename. ooh, i can't wait to see jess again, she's so cool! and maybe i'll see kim? i dunno, depends if the choir gals will get together.

i get to go to calgary tomorrow and i think i'm coming back on monday. bah, family trips aren't that great for me, oh well. i get to watch lots of hindi movies! hehe, i don't really like it, but cause my aunt has satellite (this aunt is actually relate to my cousin!), well then my mom MUST watch it! see sabira should come, then she could watch lots of her beloved srk!

i do heavily enjoy craig david, he's SO AMAZING. too bad they don't make a big deal about him in the magazines. stupid ashton, justin and all the crap i have to see. i've found better looking guys than those. oh well, i guess it's better that the guys i like aren't too exposed, otherwise i'd wanna hurt them! hehe. i'm strange. yah, i think i'm going cold-hearted. oh well, it's better this way. i won't have to worry about thinking that guys like me when they stand near me. and then i know they don't and i don't have to get my hopes crushed. TOO MANY guys think i'm their stalker, and that could be why a couple have left. hehe! oh well, it's better this way. i must say something, i managed to get a guy out of my head, but after seeing him for 2 min or something, he came back and i can't properly get him out again! ahhhhhhhgggggggg! that pisses me right off. i wish i could tell u who, but u wouldn't know him.

i do like chicken pot pie, but i think it's cold now, so that sucks.

have u ever listened to a song that made u happy and sad at the same time? well, whenever i list to "electrical storm" by u2, "alive" by edwin, or "golden brown" by the stranglers, i have that kind of feeling. i think there are other songs too. it's strange. lately i've had a massive u2 obsession! i've listened to their songs for a long time and what not, but right now i'm obsessed, maybe due to their new album. u know what's funny? i love the songs "vertigo" and "all because of you" from their new album, and the current single is "vertigo", but the bear is now playing "all because of you"! is that not freaky?! AWESOME! oh btw, if anyone wants to preview their new album, i have a link somewhere where u can do it for free and listen to each song in full.

i think i should end this post, it's getting too long. bye. have a merry christmas, happy holidays and happy new year, in case i don't see some of u before than!

All Because Of You by U2

I was born a child of grace
Nothing else about the place
Everything was ugly but your beautiful face
And it left me no illusion

I saw you in the curve of the moon
In the shadow cast across my room
You heard me in my tune
When I just heard confusion

All because of you
All because of you
All because of you
I am… I am

I like the sound of my own voice
I didn’t give anyone else a choice
An intellectual tortoise
Racing with your bullet train

Some people get squashed crossing the tracks
Some people got high rises on their backs
I’m not broke but you can see the cracks
You can make me perfect again

All because of you
All because of you
All because of you
I am…

I am I’m alive
I’m being born
I just arrived, I’m at the door
Of the place I started out from
And I want back inside

All because of you
All because of you
All because of you
I am

Ugly by the Exies

Are you ugly?
A liar like me?
A user, a lost soul?
Someone you don’t know
Money it’s no cure
A Sickness so pure
Are you like me?
Are you ugly?

[Chorus]
We are dirt, we are alone
You know we are far from sober!
We are fake, we are afraid
You know it’s far from over
We are dirt we are alone
You know we are far from sober!
Look closer, are you like me?
Are you ugly?

Turn a blind eye
Why do I deny?
Medicate me
So I die Happy
A strain of cancer
Chokes the answers
Are you like me?
A liar like me?

[Chorus]

I don’t care, you don’t care
I’m bitter, you’re angry.
You don’t care, I don’t care
You love you, just like me
I blame you, you blame me
I’m bitter, you’re angry.
You don’t care, I don’t care
You love you, like me

[Chorus]

Are you Ugly? [X3]

i was just checking out my next semester profs, and i'm SO glad i have deakin as my chem 102 prof. she's very good, unlike my bio 108 prof! i went on ratemyprofessor.com to see how my next semester teachers are. all of them have a pretty good rating, but i don't know who my math prof is, so that sucks. for this semester, my bio 108 prof has a crappy rating. hehe. i agree. i wonder how her teacher evaluation went. oh well. lori, was ur chem 101 ta named colin? beartracks says that mine was supposed to be a colin. but that totally wasn't true! weird. well, bye.

wow, a lot of famous athletes have used steroids to cheat. barry bonds, marion jones, tim montgomery, to name a few. sad, sad. oh well, there all american and most are olympic athletes, so i guess it's good in a way (they get stripped of their medals, or at least some have).

story behind "sponge bread, square taste". well, my mom bought this "low carb" bread awhile back and it tasted like a sponge (absorbed the mayo on it too) and well keeping in the theme of "sponge bob square pants", i decided to call it that. well the square taste means bad/bland, kinda like calling someone square because they're boring. well that's it.

"Ken Jennings Loses in 75TH Game,Takes Home a Record-Setting $2,520,700. November 30th , 2004 — Television’s longest winning streak in game show history came to an end today when Ken Jennings lost on JEOPARDY! After appearing on 75 shows, and winning over $2.5 million, Jennings finally met his match in Nancy Zerg, a realtor from Ventura, California." u know what's hilarious? the girl who beat him, lost the night after! she finished with $2!

hi there! well, i told u i'd post something this week! well, the past few days (well 6 to be exact) were cool. here's a recap:

thursday (nov. 25): i finished my bio lab early (3:30pm or so) because we figured we'd print out the answers to the questions from the internet and well, the only useful thing in the lab was the dissection of the fish. hehe. smelly! after that i went to my cuz's place to spend the evening with her because she was to leave the saturday after for toronto. she's actually from toronto but she was doing her co-op here in capital health (uofa) for the past few months. yes, well we hung out and went to "the keg" on whyte ave and ate some good steak and potatoes. we then went to the "marble slab creamery" and got some "oh so good" ice cream. mmm....! yes, it was cool, u get to pick ur "fix-ins" and they mix it in with ur ice cream. it's a little expensive, but u must go, at least once in ur life! that was also on whyte ave. we then walked back to her place and watched tv ("seinfeld reunion", and other such shows), and at 9pm we had a "group convo" with 3 other cousins of mine from toronto. they had to discuss some plans for the upcoming week (this past week). that was FUN!! i love talking to cousins! they're so fun! i told them i like vishaal. i don't actually want to write his name, oh well. yah, poorna and i have established his nickname is "k2" because he reminds me of an old crush of mine (khaleel). yah, so they were bugging me about that, but it was still fun. oooh, did i mention the purse my cuz bought me? she bought me a cool black purse with a pic of elvis and some jewels on the front. i had a feeling she'd buy it, i guess 'cause i told her. i do feel bad, afterall I was supposed to be the one to buy her a gift! oh well, i guess that'll happen when i go to toronto for a visit. yah, i was at her house pretty late! oh well, i got to sleep in the next day because psych was cancelled (prof wasn't there). oh i managed to drive home from near the university (whyte ave) with my brother, and that's a BIG accomplishment! he's scary!

friday: i slept in. well, i guess i start later than most people, so i just got to sleep in more than normal (wolk up at 9am). i did normal school stuff. ooh i did get to wear a new shirt/skirt combo to jamatkhana (mosque), so that was cool. but nothing special today.

saturday: wolk up early (7am) so that i could get to uofa by 8:10am and get a ride from there to the church where we were to practise. i was surprised how awake i could be. the rehearsal was cool. i met some new people in the car i was in, so that was awesome! i think they are all older than me, or maybe one is my age. i dunno. yah, i did nothing that night, just went to the gym. i also watched "problem child 2". i love that movie! i do hate, however, the tv has to edit out one of the funniest parts. oh well!

sunday: i went to uofa again (9:10am) and met the same people from the carpool and we went to the church to do the church service. that went well. it was strange how a couple of choir people asked me how i thought it was, so i'm not sure if they were referring to the performance or the fact that i was witnessing a church service. btw, i've witnessed several of them before, i guess i have more experience in this field than a lot of people my age who are also ismailis. whatevs. it was strange being one of the only people NOT singing the hymns. i went to the gym again after, and guess what! i had to see "creamsoda" for like the billionth time at millenium place! that's SOOOOOO annoying! and this time i nearly got in his way on the track ( he was running and i was trying to get off the track)!!! ahhh! ACCCKKKKK!

monday: same old school, but i had to go to the winspear for 3pm for our choir dress rehearsal. i met up with jen (choir person) and we took the lrt to the winspear. that was fun (crowded train). i didn't buy a ticket, but she said a bus pass will be good enough. oh well, i wasn't checked (yes). we got to the winspear and i ate my lunch. after a while, anna and michelle found us (more choir people) and we all went to the stage door. talk about perfect timing, but as i was going in to the door, mrs. dear came out! i was SO happy! i got to talk to her. i wish i could go to their christmas concert, but it's on a day i can't give up. oh well, it was awesome talking to her. luckily jen waited for me, so i knew where i was going inside. yah, there were a bunch of choir people and finally we all went to the stage to rehearse. it was fun. i was standing next to people who were talking to me (they're older than me). one of them was saying how she wants to marry martin! hehe! i told her that everyone loves him. yah, that was great. well at 7:30pm we had our christmas concert. it was like a church service, so i kinda zoned out for parts of it. but we were the only choir performing, so the entire thing took an hour and a half. after that, we got our pictures (group) taken. and then i waited for my dad to pick me up. while waiting, this creepy homeless guy came inside and started asking these older people if they had change, they said no politely and he started swearing. i went into an area where there were people, i was scared of him. luckily, he left and didn't hurt/harm anyone. i went home after and well yah.

tuesday: nothing, i just had a chem lab exam (ahh!). but nothing else.

wednesday (today): i went to my classes. in chem someone's cell phone kept going off, and everyone was getting annoyed. people were booing. the teacher didn't like it, but she didn't freak out, good thing. i like my chem prof, she's so relaxed. i'm sure my bio prof would have killed that person! my bio prof scares me, she has moodswings. yes, well i had to go to the lrt again and this time go to the leg. for another choir performance. it was interesting, luckily i met found anna so i didn't get lost in the lrt station. we practised at the leg and then we performed for the "lighting festival". premier klein was there. he's really short in person! well, after our performance, we (singers/audience) went out and watched the lighting of the christmas lights. the choir (us) sang 2 carols and also sange the "uofa cheer song". the girl in front of me closed her book ( i didn't bring my book outside, i can't hold a candle and a book full of paper at once) so i didn't remember the words for the song. luckily i got them the 2nd time around! btw, we're were being filmed throughout the entire thing on cbc. so maybe we'll be on? or were we on! dang, i might have missed it (waaahhh!!!). yes, well i changed and left so that i could make it in time for the 5:30pm bus home (no choir rehearsal). on my way to the lrt train, i saw bev. we weren't sure if we were each other until we got closer, but we were who we thought we were (did that make ANY sense?). well, we talked for a minute. she was going to a christmas dinner at the legislature.

wow, i think ur all caught up now! btw, i think becca has a twin in choir! k, maybe not. but there's this saprano who has brown hair and is like becca's height and kinda looks like her from far. i thought that she was becca the first time i saw her. however, she did get a haircut today, so that does make a difference. oooh, and u wanna know what's freaky? they were both wearing a white shirt under a blue shirt at saturday's rehearsal! hehe.

oh, i saw kaite flescher (spelling ?) on the bus home today, and well i began my trail of thinking. katie's dating keith--> i went to elementary with keith--> it's near christmas time ---> i was mary and keith was joseph in our school christmas play for grade 2.
freaky, eh? i don't remember y i was mary, that makes no sense. but i do remember carrying a doll, so i was mary. whatevs.

i love listening to the beatles! i think i'm done my spiel, but we'll see...
